Health determines whether or not you can Battle with others. If your Health goes below 25, you can not battle with others until you heal. The exception is if you are Marked for Death. In that case, Rivals will be able to battle with you until your health goes to 0.
You can visit the Healer using Gold. The Healer can take Gold from your Chest if you don't have enough on hand. As you level up, it cost more to visit the Healer. You can also heal yourself by Visiting The Seer if your gold is low.
