Guilds and Income
Gold is used to setup Guilds, which provide an hourly stream of income. You receive income from your Guilds every hour (or less, if you have the right Boosts), regardless of whether you are online or not. Use the income to offset Equipment Upkeep, and to accumulate gold for better Equipment and invest in more Guilds.
Also note the amount of gold that it takes to set up a Guild increases each time you invest in one, so invest in different kinds of Guilds to maximize your income.
