We have just enabled two NEW kinds of chatrooms on the new site.
- Your HOUSE chat.
- Your PRIVATE chats.
On your Player Page, click on See More on the House line.
You are now in a chatroom together with whomever is visiting your house. Multiple people can be here.
People that you blocked, or that blocked you, will not have access.
Let's face it, the PM system is VERY dated, and slow. Our goal is to eventually replace it with an interface more similar to chat. But for now, whenever you want to have a private chat with someone, go to their page, click on Message icon next to their player name, and the chatroom will open.
Now -- here is the trick. For them to see your messages, they have to go to YOUR page and click on the message icon next to your name. A bit tricky, and we will come up with a better way -- but for now that's how you have to do it. As above, if they blocked you, or you blocked them, this feature is NOT available.
Reporting features within the chat will work as usual, but both these chat options are NOT available to anyone who has been in jail within the last 45 days.
The new Cellufun Android app is coming along but is not quite ready yet, we will announce it as soon as it is available.

We're excited to tell you that we are finally bringing the new site live.
- IMPORTANT: as promised, the old site you know and love will stay up.
We had hoped to make more progress and more testing on the new site.
But given everything that's been going on in the world, it was impractical and we decided not to hold off any longer.
This means you will have issues, some we already know about, some you will discover. Give us honest feedback and we will fix things over time.
One of the most important fixes is the look of all our images, games and backgrounds on the screen. It has become harder and harder to support newer phones with the old site, and so we hope your experiene will now be much better.
Will there be lag? We honestly don't know yet. But the new system is much easier to scale than the old one -- so as we notice it, we will increase capacity such that there is no lag, we promise you that.
Chat will be sent in both directions -- but since the new chat is much more fully featured, some messages will be skipped or not fully formatted in old chat. We are still experimenting with this. Only filtered chat will see messages from people on the new site.
In general, it is a work in progress, so you will have to bear with us, and we will keep improving it.
Oh, and the URL? The URL is New Site URL and you can use your screenname and password.
Be sure to browse through the catalog that replaces the closet -- you will find many items on sale!
The new Cellufun Android app, which matches this site, should launch by the end of this week. iOS app is coming as well.
01.11 New Cellufun Info, Jan 2020As people have been talking about the new site, there have been various rumors and speculation:

Your avatars, your possessions, your pets, your trophies -- none of it is going away.
The old games you love, from Merry Mobile and Hallofun to Mobile Pets and Mobile Wars and Fishing -- none of them are going away.
But, this site was originally built in 2005, modified again in 2008, and other than the Tylted interregnum and the addition of Rooms in 2013
there have been no major changes to it.
Many of the glitches people are experiencing, particularly on mobile phones and the sizing of images on the screen
are because this older design cannot handle new devices well.
Many of you complain about lag -- a major reason for the lag is that each function on the site requires a page reload -- this is simply not
how most modern websites work.
Some of you might remember when we introduced downloadable games like Mobile Pet Burst we tried turning them on in the site but it
wouldn't work. We have plans for many such games, but we want to integrate them into the site so we can continue to use chat
and make it easier to grant trophies and rewards. That's one of the nice things we will be able to do with the new format.
One of the major things that is changing is the chat functionality. The primary reason is simply every day life: we are in 2020.
We all use iMessage, texting, Facebook Messenger, WhatsApp, Kik and a myriad other chat sites. There is no good reason why Cellufun chat
cannot be as full featured, with support for replies, phone emojis, GIFs, URL posting and previews and more.
Of course this being Cellufun, chat is also a perennial sore spot with constant harassment complaints, language that would be banned by Pornhub
and endless screenshots to support.
As a temporarry measure, we separated into filtered and unfiltered chat, but this is far from ideal, lowered some chat volume significantly, and
didn't really eliminate all the problems.
The new chat adds is full featured, with support for many exciting new features like in-chat games. Reporting is integrated, so no more screenshots
More importantly, chat automatically flags certain content which you can block -- so instead of blocking players, which you can still do, you can
simply say I don't want to see certain offensive messages.
Now, is it going to fix all problems? When the lion lays down with the lamb, maybe, but it will make things easier both for support and for players.
For convenience, new chat will keep multiple chat rooms easily accessible, so you can switch back and forth faster.
While our goal is to switch PMs and blogs to the same full featured system, initially those systems are staying as they are right now
There are slight organization changes but you would recognize the player page instantly.
Friends, families, groups, all this stuff is staying of course but we made selecting and editing this
this data easier.
We have lots of exciting features planned after the dust settles, like interactive and even games in the avatar image.
We are switching to a scrolling catalog type system where every item is fully previewd on your avatar, instead of using the small icons.
The catalog is organized across the same sections as now, clothes, possessions, etc, and can be searched by words or portions of words
to find items quickly. The catalog can be sorted by price, popularity and name, and filtered for just your stuff or stuff on sale.
This is a big change and may take some gettting used to, but should be vastly preferable to paging through 40 pages of shirts or backgrounds.
OMG, the mall is going away?
If the primary reason you visit the mall is to chat, have no fear, there will be a new lobby chat area that is not tied to any specific game,
and of course chat will continue to be available in groups and other non-game areas as well. We are considering introducting player-page chat soon.
If however you pine for Plantane Monarchy, the reality is that maintaining the store structure at this point simply makes it more difficult to add
inventory like new clothes to the site, much less introduce concepts like item specific sales and the like.
There's a reason people prefer shopping on Amazon and not in malls, and we are no different. Our expectation is that you will come to love the new system.
Well, as noted above, this is the biggest change we're making to the site since 2008, so we're NOT doing it lightly. Currently only a very small number of
people is checking it out, and we have already fixed a few major issues. Within a week or so we will be inviting a larger amound of people on.
Even after the new version is available to everyone, both will stay up until we are comfortable that everything works on the new version.
So whenever you hear lines like "why don't they fix what's broken now first" -- yes, what we're doing is necessary to make that happen. And if someone says that, tell
them to stop qvetching about that in chat and instead report their real issues in detail to support, and we will make an effort to fix them.
And if they say they've emailed support but no one answers, tell them that chesstest says they're full of shit.
And now I know that you've read to the bottom...

08.12 Ultimate Game Card ReplacementsSo you may have heard that after buying the Ultimate Game Card company, Visa is shutting it down at the end of September. We have been investigating alternatives to the UGC, and think the best option is to use Paypal. Joining PayPal is easy even if you don’t have a credit card, you can use prepaid credit cards like the American Express Serve or Visa Account Now, which you can pick up in any drug store, and any of the places you picked up the UGC before.
American Express Serve lets you reload at more than 27,000 places, like 7-11, CVS, Family Dollar and Walmart. They charge $1/month without any other costs to use or reload, so this seems like a pretty reasonable option.
Visa Account Now cards are another option, available at even more places including the ones above. They charge $4-5 to add money, which might be worth it if you want to buy a larger quantity of FunCoins.
